Charge cycles
Charge cycles refer to the process of fully charging and then fully discharging a battery, such as in smartphones or laptops. Each complete cycle gradually reduces the battery’s maximum capacity over time. For example, using half the battery each day and then recharging it counts as half a cycle, so two days of use equal one full cycle. Batteries are rated for a certain number of cycles before they significantly lose their ability to hold a charge. Proper management, like avoiding deep discharges and high temperatures, helps extend battery lifespan by reducing unnecessary charge cycles.
