Changeup

A changeup is a type of pitch in baseball that is thrown with the same arm motion as a fastball but is released at a different grip and with less speed. The goal is to deceive the batter into thinking it's a fastball, causing them to swing prematurely. Because it comes in slower than a typical fastball, it disrupts the hitter's timing, making it easier for the pitcher to get the batter out. Effective changeups rely on good deception, timing, and control to be successful.
