Chandra
Chandra, officially called the Chandra X-ray Observatory, is a NASA space telescope launched in 1999 that observes the universe in X-ray light. Unlike visible light, X-rays reveal extreme phenomena like black holes, neutron stars, and hot gas in galaxy clusters. Positioned in space to avoid Earth's atmosphere blocking these rays, Chandra provides scientists with detailed images and data, helping us understand the high-energy processes shaping the cosmos. Its insights contribute to our knowledge of cosmic evolution, the behavior of matter under extreme conditions, and the nature of some of the universe's most energetic objects.
