Chamois

A chamois (pronounced "sham-ee") is a type of goat-antelope native to Europe, particularly found in mountainous regions like the Alps and Pyrenees. They have a sturdy build, curved horns, and a thick coat that helps them survive cold environments. Chamois are excellent climbers, capable of navigating steep, rocky terrain with agility. They typically feed on grasses, herbs, and shrubs, and are adapted for life in rugged mountainous habitats. Known for their speed and agility, they are important both ecologically, as grazers, and culturally, as game animals in some regions.
