Cham people

The Cham people are an indigenous ethnic group primarily found in Vietnam and Cambodia, with a historical presence in parts of Southeast Asia. They have their own language, which belongs to the Austronesian family, and a distinct culture influenced by Hinduism and Islam over centuries. Traditionally, they were skilled maritime traders and farmers, especially cultivating rice. Today, the Cham maintain unique customs, traditional dress, and religious practices, while also integrating into the broader societies of Vietnam and Cambodia. Despite pressures from modern developments, they strive to preserve their cultural identity and heritage.
