Chaldean people

The Chaldean people are an ethnoreligious group primarily originating from northern Iraq. They are mostly followers of the Chaldean Catholic Church, an Eastern Catholic Church in communion with the Roman Pope, and speak a dialect of Aramaic. Historically, they trace their roots to ancient Mesopotamian civilizations and the Assyrian Empire. Today, many Chaldeans have migrated abroad due to political instability and conflicts in Iraq, forming vibrant communities in countries like the United States, Iraq, and Syria. They maintain strong cultural, religious, and linguistic traditions, playing a significant role in preserving the heritage of the ancient Mesopotamian region.
