Chalazion

A chalazion is a small, painless bump that forms on the eyelid due to a blocked oil gland. These glands help keep the eye lubricated, and when they become clogged, fluid builds up, causing swelling. Chalazia can develop following inflammation or irritation of the eyelid. Although they are usually harmless and may resolve on their own, treatment options include warm compresses to ease discomfort or, in some cases, medical procedures to drain the cyst. They are different from styes, which are painful and caused by infections. Regular hygiene can help prevent chalazia from forming.
