Chair Work
Chair work is a therapeutic technique where clients use one or more chairs to explore and express different aspects of their thoughts, feelings, or parts of themselves. By "sitting" in these chairs, individuals can role-play conversations between conflicting parts of their personality or process emotions more concretely. This method helps increase self-awareness, resolve inner conflicts, and gain new perspectives. It's like having a dialogue within oneself, making abstract feelings more tangible and manageable. Chair work is widely used in psychotherapy to facilitate deeper understanding and emotional healing.
