Chaim Vital
Chaim Vital was a 16th-century Jewish scholar and mystic who is best known as the principal disciple of the renowned Kabbalist Isaac Luria. He played a key role in recording and transmitting Luria’s complex mystical teachings, which fundamentally transformed Jewish mysticism in the Safed (Galilee) region of Palestine. Vital’s writings offer detailed descriptions of divine energies, creation processes, and spiritual practices intended to deepen understanding of the universe and human soul. His work helped preserve and propagate Kabbalistic knowledge, influencing subsequent generations of Jewish mystics and scholars.
