Chédiak-Higashi Syndrome
Chédiak-Higashi Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder where the body's immune cells, responsible for fighting infections, don't work properly due to abnormal granules (small structures inside cells). This leads to increased vulnerability to infections, easy bruising, and problems with blood clotting. The condition also affects other parts of the body, causing issues like abnormal skin and hair pigment and nerve problems. It can be severe, but with early diagnosis and treatment, such as antibiotics and immune support, some individuals can improve. The disorder is inherited, meaning it runs in families.
