CFIUS
CFIUS, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, is a government agency tasked with reviewing and approving foreign investments in U.S. companies and assets. Its main goal is to protect national security by ensuring that foreign investments do not threaten the country's critical infrastructure, technology, or security interests. When a foreign entity wants to invest in or acquire a U.S. business, CFIUS assesses whether the deal poses security risks. If concerns arise, CFIUS can recommend modifications or block the transaction to safeguard national security interests.
