
Cetshwayo
Cetshwayo was a notable Zulu leader who reigned as king from 1873 to 1879. He was known for strengthening the Zulu nation and resisting British and Boer encroachments on Zulu land. In 1879, he led the Zulu against British forces in the Anglo-Zulu War, which included famous battles like the Battle of Isandlwana. Despite initial victories, the Zulu were eventually defeated, and Cetshwayo was captured. His leadership is remembered for his efforts to uphold Zulu independence and culture during a period of colonial expansion in southern Africa.
