Certiorari process
Certiorari is a legal process where a higher court, often the Supreme Court, reviews a decision made by a lower court. When a party believes that a legal error occurred that warrants correction, they can request the higher court to examine the case. The higher court then decides whether to grant certiorari, meaning they will hear the case. If granted, the case is reviewed on its merits; if denied, the lower court's decision stands. This process ensures that important legal issues are considered at the highest level when necessary.
