Certified Local Governments (CLGs)
Certified Local Governments (CLGs) are local municipalities or counties that have been officially recognized by the National Park Service for their commitment to historic preservation. This certification allows these governments to access federal resources, grants, and technical assistance to protect and maintain historic sites within their communities. CLGs work collaboratively with state preservation offices to identify, preserve, and promote their cultural and historic assets, ensuring their heritage is valued and sustained for future generations.
