Ceres (moon)
Ceres is the largest object in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, classified as a dwarf planet. About 940 kilometers (585 miles) across, it has a rocky core surrounded by a mixture of ice and minerals. Ceres shows signs of past liquid water activity and may still have a subsurface ocean. Its surface features include craters, bright spots, and possible cryovolcanoes, indicating complex geological history. In 2015, NASA's Dawn spacecraft orbited Ceres, providing detailed images and data, which have improved our understanding of its composition and evolution as a small, icy world within our solar system.
