cephalopod biology
Cephalopods, including octopuses, squids, and cuttlefish, are intelligent marine animals with soft, often bulbous bodies and tentacles anchored by a beak-like mouth. They have highly developed eyes and excellent vision, allowing them to detect colors and movements. Their tentacles are covered with suction cups or hooks for grasping prey. Cephalopods are known for their ability to rapidly change color and texture through specialized skin cells called chromatophores, aiding in communication and camouflage. They have a closed circulatory system, a unique nervous system with a large brain relative to their size, and are adept hunters, often employing complex strategies to catch prey and escape predators.
