Cephalic Index

The cephalic index is a measurement used by anthropologists and medical professionals to describe the shape of a person's head. It compares the width of the head (measured across the widest part) to its length (measured from front to back). This ratio helps categorize head shapes as either broad and short or long and narrow. It is useful in studying human variation, development, and certain medical conditions. A higher cephalic index indicates a wider head, while a lower one indicates a longer, narrower head.
