Centre for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN)

The Centre for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) is a division within the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) responsible for ensuring the safety, proper labeling, and effective marketing of food, dietary supplements, and cosmetics. It evaluates and regulates products to protect public health, investigates food safety issues, and monitors compliance with regulations. CFSAN also promotes nutrition, food innovation, and consumer awareness, working to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure that food and related products are safe, accurately represented, and beneficial for consumers.
