Central Tibetan Administration
The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), often called the Tibetan government-in-exile, is an organization established in 1959 after Tibet's incorporation into China. Based in Dharamshala, India, it functions as a government-in-exile, advocating for the rights, culture, and autonomy of Tibetans. Led by the Dalai Lama until his retirement from political duties in 2011, the CTA coordinates education, cultural preservation, and humanitarian efforts for Tibetans worldwide. While it does not have official sovereignty over Tibet, it plays a key role in representing Tibetan interests and promoting peaceful dialogue for Tibetan autonomy.
