Central Dogma of molecular biology

The Central Dogma of molecular biology describes the flow of genetic information within a cell. It states that DNA, the cell’s genetic blueprint, is transcribed into messenger RNA (mRNA). The mRNA then serves as a template for assembling proteins through a process called translation. Proteins are responsible for most functions and structure in the body. This flow—DNA to RNA to protein—is fundamental to how genetic information guides biological activity, ensuring that each organism’s traits are expressed correctly.
