Centers of mass

The center of mass of an object is the point where its mass can be considered concentrated for the purpose of analyzing its movement or balance. It is the average location of all the mass in the object, weighted by mass distribution. If you were to support or balance an object at its center of mass, it would balance perfectly without tipping. For irregular shapes, the center of mass might be inside or outside the object. Understanding the center of mass helps in predicting how objects will move, fall, or rotate, and is fundamental in engineering, physics, and design.
