Cementing
Cementing is a foundational process in drilling wells, particularly oil and gas wells. After a pipe called casing is lowered into the drilled hole, cement is pumped down the pipe and back up around the outside, filling the space between the pipe and the borehole. This creates a strong, stable seal that prevents fluids from moving between rock layers and protects the casing from pressure. Proper cementing ensures well integrity, safety, and efficiency by securing the casing in place and isolating different underground zones.
