Cement Technology

Cement technology involves the science and process of creating cement, a key ingredient in concrete. It begins with extracting raw materials like limestone, clay, and minerals, which are ground and combined. These materials are then heated in a kiln to produce clinker, a hardened substance that is ground into fine powder. Additives may be mixed in to modify properties. When mixed with water, cement undergoes a chemical reaction called hydration, which causes it to harden and gain strength, binding together aggregates like sand and gravel to form durable concrete used in construction.
