CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference)
The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is a standardized system used to measure and describe a person’s language skills across different languages. It categorizes abilities into six levels: A1 and A2 (basic users), B1 and B2 (independent users), and C1 and C2 (proficient users). These levels help learners, teachers, and institutions understand and compare language proficiency, set learning goals, and tailor instruction. Essentially, CEFR provides a clear, consistent way to assess and communicate language competence, making it easier to recognize progress and compare skills internationally.
