Cedars of God
The Cedars of God is a historic forest located in Lebanon's Kadisha Valley, renowned for its ancient cedar trees that date back thousands of years. These cedars hold cultural, environmental, and religious significance, symbolizing resilience and national identity. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the forest is one of the last remaining natural stands of Lebanon’s iconic cedar trees, which have been valued for their durable wood since antiquity, notably by the Phoenicians and ancient Egyptians. Today, it serves as a vital conservation area, preserving both the trees and Lebanon’s natural and cultural heritage.
