CECE (Commercial lunar payload services)

CECE (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) is a NASA program that partners with private companies to deliver scientific and technological equipment to the Moon. It allows organizations to send payloads—such as instruments, experiments, or small spacecraft—using commercially provided lunar transportation services. This approach aims to make lunar exploration more cost-effective, flexible, and accessible by utilizing commercial launch and landing resources, similar to how satellite launches are contracted today.
