Ceaușescu

Nicolae Ceaușescu was a Romanian communist leader who ruled the country from 1965 to 1989. He established a centralized, authoritarian regime characterized by strict control over political and economic life, suppression of dissent, and a personality cult. His government prioritized independent foreign policy and sought to modernize Romania, but his policies led to widespread hardships, shortages, and repression. Ceaușescu's rule ended abruptly when he was overthrown and executed during the Romanian Revolution of 1989, marking the fall of communist power in Romania.
