CCJ (Caribbean Court of Justice)

The Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) is the highest court for Caribbean countries that are members of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). It serves two main purposes: as an appellate court to hear appeals from member states' courts, and as a regional tribunal to interpret and apply the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas, promoting economic integration and cooperation. The CCJ helps ensure consistent legal standards across member states, strengthens regional unity, and provides a final, authoritative court for resolving disputes, replacing the appellate jurisdiction of the Privy Council for those nations that have designated the CCJ as their final court.
