CBCT
CBCT, or Cone Beam Computed Tomography, is a specialized type of 3D imaging used primarily in dental and maxillofacial care. It captures detailed images of the teeth, jaw, and surrounding structures by rotating a cone-shaped X-ray beam around your head. The data is then processed to create accurate three-dimensional models, helping dentists diagnose issues with greater precision. CBCT images provide more detail than traditional X-rays, allowing for improved planning of treatments such as implant placements, root canals, or orthodontics, all while exposing patients to a relatively low dose of radiation.
