CB2 receptors
CB2 receptors are specialized proteins found mainly in your immune system and certain tissues. They are part of the body's endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate functions like inflammation, pain, and immune responses. When activated by certain compounds—either naturally occurring in your body or from external sources—they can influence inflammatory processes and immune activity. Unlike CB1 receptors, which are primarily in the brain, CB2 receptors are mostly outside the brain, making them a target for therapies aiming to reduce inflammation and pain without affecting mood or cognition.
