Catholic hierarchy

The Catholic hierarchy is a structured leadership system managing the Church. At the top is the Pope, the spiritual leader and bishop of Rome, guiding faith worldwide. Below him are cardinals, senior bishops who advise the Pope and elect his successor. Next are bishops, who oversee dioceses—regional communities of parishes. Priests serve individual parishes, providing spiritual guidance and sacraments. Deacons assist priests and handle specific duties. This hierarchy ensures doctrinal unity, pastoral care, and organizational stability across the global Catholic community.
