Caster angle
Caster angle refers to the tilt of a vehicle's steering axis when viewed from the side. Imagine a line projected through the steering components; if this line leans backward towards the vehicle’s rear, it has positive caster. Positive caster helps improve steering stability, keeps the wheels aligned when driving straight, and enhances steering feel. Conversely, negative caster, where the line tilts forward, can make steering feel lighter but less stable. Proper caster settings contribute to a smooth, controlled ride and better handling, especially during turns and at higher speeds.
