Castaic Lake
Castaic Lake is a large reservoir located in Southern California, created by damming the Santa Clara River. It serves as both a water supply source and a popular recreation area, offering activities like boating, fishing, and swimming. The lake is divided into two parts: the Castaic Lake and the newer Castaic Lake South, with the upper lake primarily used for water storage and the lower for recreation. Managed by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, it plays a vital role in local water management while providing a scenic place for outdoor enjoyment.
