Cassini-Huygens (spacecraft)

The Cassini-Huygens mission was a groundbreaking NASA, ESA, and ASI project exploring Saturn and its moons. Launched in 1997, it included the Cassini spacecraft, which orbited Saturn for over 13 years, studying its rings, atmosphere, and moons like Titan. The Huygens probe detached from Cassini and landed on Titan in 2005, providing images and data about its surface and atmosphere. The mission greatly expanded our understanding of Saturn's complex system and the potential for life on icy moons, ending in 2017 when Cassini deliberately plunged into Saturn to avoid contaminating its moons.
