Cassini

Cassini was a spacecraft launched by NASA in 1997 to study Saturn and its system of rings and moons. It spent about 13 years orbiting Saturn, gathering detailed images and data about the planet, its atmosphere, rings, and moons like Titan and Enceladus. Cassini helped scientists understand Saturn’s complex environment, discovered water-ice geysers on Enceladus, and mapped Titan’s thick atmosphere and surface. In 2017, it concluded its mission by gradually descending into Saturn, ending its exploration. Cassini significantly expanded our knowledge of the Saturn system and contributed to broader insights about planetary systems.
