Casirivimab and Imdevimab
Casirivimab and Imdevimab are laboratory-made antibodies designed to help fight COVID-19. They work by attaching to specific parts of the virus’s spike protein, preventing it from entering and infecting human cells. Used together as a treatment, they can reduce the severity and duration of illness in people with mild to moderate COVID-19, especially if given early. This combination, known as REGEN-COV or Ronapreve, is administered via infusion and is most effective when started soon after symptoms appear. It’s an important tool in managing COVID-19, particularly for high-risk individuals.
