Casing Centralizer
A casing centralizer is a device used in oil and gas drilling that ensures the steel pipe (casing) stays properly positioned within the borehole. When drilling deep into the earth, the borehole can become uneven or crooked, causing the casing to sit off-center or wobble. The centralizer surrounds the casing and pushes it toward the middle of the hole, providing uniform clearance around it. This helps ensure the casing is properly aligned, reduces the risk of damage or sticking during installation, and improves the effectiveness of well completion and safety.
