Casing
Casing refers to the process of controlling the placement of drill pipe and other equipment within a drilled well, usually by inserting a steel pipe called a "casing" into the borehole. This casing provides structural support to prevent the well from collapsing, isolates different underground layers, and protects groundwater from contamination. The casing is inserted in sections, cemented in place, and allows safe, efficient extraction of oil or gas. Proper casing ensures well integrity, safety, and environmental protection throughout the drilling and production process.
