CART (Championship Auto Racing Teams)
Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) was an American open-wheel auto racing sanctioning body and series that operated primarily in the 1990s and early 2000s. CART organized races featuring high-performance single-seater cars, competing on diverse tracks, including ovals and road courses. Known for its competitive racing and innovation, CART attracted top drivers and teams, becoming a prominent series alongside IndyCar. However, disagreements over management and direction led to a split in open-wheel racing in the U.S., with CART eventually declining and merging into the IndyCar series in 2008.
