Carrie Nation

Carrie Nation was an American activist in the late 19th and early 20th centuries known for her opposition to alcohol. She believed drinking led to social problems and used bold tactics, such as smashing bar windows with a hatchet, to protest alcohol consumption. She was part of the temperance movement, which aimed to reduce or eliminate alcohol in society. Despite controversy, her actions drew attention to the issue and contributed to the eventual push for alcohol prohibition in the United States.
