Carpatho-Rusyns

Carpatho-Rusyns are an East Slavic ethnic group originating from the Carpathian Mountains region, spanning parts of Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Romania. They have a distinct cultural identity, language (Carpatho-Rusyn), and historical traditions, influenced by their mountainous environment and diverse history. Often associated with the historic region of Carpathian Ruthenia, they have maintained unique customs, music, and religious practices, primarily Eastern Christianity. While not widely recognized as a separate nationality in all countries, many Carpatho-Rusyns emphasize their cultural heritage and seek recognition of their identity and traditions.
