Carpathia

Carpathia was a British passenger steamship, best known for rescuing survivors from the Titanic disaster in 1912. Built in 1903, it transported passengers and cargo across the Atlantic. When the Titanic sank after hitting an iceberg, Carpathia responded to distress signals, arriving hours later and rescuing over 700 people from the icy waters. Its swift action earned worldwide recognition. During World War I, Carpathia was used as a troopship and animal transport before being sunk by a German U-boat in 1918. Today, it’s remembered for its vital role in one of maritime history’s most tragic events.
