Caroni Sugar Mill
Caroni Sugar Mill was a major sugar-producing factory located in Trinidad and Tobago. It operated for much of the 20th century and was a key part of the country’s economy, processing sugarcane into raw sugar and related products. The mill employed many workers and contributed to the local community's development. It closed in 2003 due to declining global sugar prices and industry changes, leaving a historical legacy as an important symbol of Trinidad’s sugar industry. Today, the site is largely abandoned but remains a notable landmark representing the country's industrial past.
