Carneades

Carneades was an ancient Greek philosopher and skeptic from the 3rd century BCE. He argued that certainty about truth is impossible because evidence and perceptions can always be questioned. Carneades believed we should suspend judgment when faced with conflicting evidence, promoting intellectual humility. His ideas challenged the idea that one could ever have absolute knowledge, encouraging ongoing inquiry and critical thinking. His work influenced later philosophical thought, especially skepticism and discussions about the limits of human understanding.
