Carlos IV

Carlos IV was the King of Spain from 1788 to 1808, part of the Bourbon dynasty. His reign was marked by political instability, influence from his favorite, Manuel Godoy, and challenges from emerging European powers. His rule faced difficulties like economic troubles, military conflicts, and growing discontent among his subjects. Carlos IV's inability to effectively lead contributed to Spain's decline during this period. He ultimately abdicated in favor of his son, Ferdinand VII, amidst the upheaval caused by Napoleon's invasion of Spain.
