Caribbean telephone numbering
Caribbean telephone numbering generally uses country-specific codes called country calling codes, which are dialed after the international access code. For example, Jamaica’s code is +1-876, while Trinidad and Tobago’s is +1-868. Within each country, local numbers vary in length but typically include an area or region code followed by the subscriber number. When calling from abroad, you dial the international access code, then the country code, and finally the local number. Domestic calls usually only require dialing the local number. The system ensures efficient routing of calls across islands and to international networks.
