Caribbean Challenge Initiative

The Caribbean Challenge Initiative (CCI) is a regional effort launched in 2008 to protect and sustainably manage the Caribbean’s marine and coastal environments. It encourages Caribbean nations to commit to establishing marine protected areas (MPAs) where marine life can thrive without heavy human interference. The goal is to preserve biodiversity, support fisheries, and promote tourism while ensuring healthy oceans for future generations.
