Cargolifter

Cargolifter was a German company that developed a large, helium-filled airship designed for heavy lifting and transportation of bulky cargo, such as construction equipment or emergency supplies. Its innovative design aimed to combine the advantages of airships—like cost-efficiency and the ability to reach remote areas—with the capacity to carry heavy loads. Although promising, the project faced financial difficulties and technical challenges, leading to its bankruptcy in 2002. The concept remains interesting, representing an alternative approach to air transportation for specialized cargo needs.
