Carfilzomib
Carfilzomib is a medication used to treat certain types of blood cancer, specifically multiple myeloma. It works by blocking a protein in cancer cells called the proteasome, which helps remove damaged or unneeded proteins. When the proteasome is blocked, waste builds up inside the cancer cells, causing them to die. Carfilzomib is usually given by intravenous injection in a healthcare setting and is often used when other treatments haven't been effective. It helps slow or stop the progression of the disease by targeting the cancer cells' ability to survive.
