Careleavers
Care leavers are individuals who have grown up in foster care or residential homes and are transitioning into independent adulthood, often after aging out of the system at 18 or 21. They may face challenges such as establishing stable housing, employment, and social support due to limited family connections and resources experienced during childhood. Support services aim to help care leavers develop life skills, access education and employment opportunities, and foster independence to ensure a smoother transition to self-sufficiency and a stable, fulfilling life.
